On critiquera sans doute, dans cette pi�ce, le peu de liaison des
sc�nes entre elles, d�faut qui tient � la difficult� de rassembler une
succession rapide et vari�e d'�v�nements dans un m�me tableau; mais
cette vari�t� et ce d�sordre apparent tiennent la curiosit� toujours
�veill�e, et un int�r�t toujours plus vif �meut les passions du lecteur
jusqu'au dernier acte. Il ne faut cependant commencer la lecture
d'_Antoine et Cl�op�tre_ qu'apr�s s'�tre p�n�tr� de la _Vie d'Antoine_
par Plutarque: c'est encore � cette source que le po�te a puis� son
plan, ses caract�res et ses d�tails.
