H�rmed m�ste det tillk�nnagivas att det rykte och osanning som blivit
spritt ut att undertecknat �r gift som fyller 30 �r den 17 n�stlidna

sv�ger som kallas f�r l�rd och doktor det �r sin sak, men att han skall
hava r�ttikhet att ogenera hederligt folk och taga heder och �ran utav
dem det tror jag intet. F�r ville de l�rde sk�ta sin sak s� fanns h�r
inte s� mycket el�nde till som jag intet vill taga uti med en l�ng t�ng
om di s� sl�nger han efter mig p� en lansv�g. heller att jag vill s�ga
ett andans ord om en s�dan person d�rtill h�ller undertecknad sig f�r
god.

Under de snart 63 �r, under vilka undertecknad varit stationerad
h�rst�des, har det m�ngfaldiga g�nger intr�ffat att jag nattetid blivit
p� olika s�tt hyllad av allm�nheten. S� ha vid upprepade tillf�llen
studentm�ssor placerats p� mitt huvud. D�remot har jag �ver huvud taget
icke mycket att inv�nda, f�rutsatt att m�ssorna �ro n�got s� n�r rena.
Likaledes har jag r�tt ofta uppvaktats med blommor och �ven n�gra g�nger
med hela granar. Det m� ocks� vara h�nt. Mindre smickrad har jag d�remot
k�nt mig d� man h�rom�ret if�rde mig en underkjol. Och absolut
protesterar jag emot att man--s�som h�rom natten h�nde--placerar en tom
kruka ovanp� mitt huvud.
Inf�r detta ofog anh�ller jag v�rdsamt om skydd f�r min person och
kommer i vidrigaste fall att g� min v�g.
